Greenery

I feel a little like a khaki-clad soldier in camouflage against this backdrop - it's all very green! I think this is one outfit that looks a little nicer on too than it actually photographs. The dress is one of my favourites though, purchased from a great shop in Dublin called Carousel . They sell lots of beautiful vintage dresses which they nip and tuck here and there to make them more flattering. Plus they often have a 3 for 2 offer that’s just too tempting to pass up on.

I absolutely love vintage clothes – in case that’s not already glaringly obvious. It feels so much more special wearing a piece of clothing that not only does no one else have but that also comes with a story and previous adventures you’ll never know about – I kinda think it gives the clothing character and a kind of twinkle in its eye!

So what do you guys think of vintage clothing? Do you buy much vintage or prefer new clothes?

Outfit: Dress, vintage; cardigan, Primark; bag, vintage.

  1. That's a beautiful dress. I do like vintage stuff but I find it difficult to find stuff that fits and that I like - though it's fun doing altering and mending to thrifted gems :) x

  3. Lovely! You look like you should be in the Keira Knightly film The Edge of Love. I'm a sucker for floral dresses!

  6. If I could buy/wear only vintage, I probably would, it's so much nicer to have clothes that no one else has (probably). I love your dress, it makes me think of liberty print florals! Also the jumper looks ridiculously cosy!

  7. If I could only wear vintage I would, but price/fit/my inability to alter any clothes successfully has kind of put me off. I've got a couple of dresses that I love, and I'm slowly adding more though. I think my big problem is when I go for a wander round the shops I want to come back with something, and that doesn't always happen when you are scouring charity shops and vintage shops so I give up and go to the high street, where it's pretty much guaranteed I will come back with something. Love this dress, and you always find the most lovely backdrops! xo

and that's so cool you quit your job two years ago and went to india too haha! it's the plan to run away to for sure ;)

  12. LOVE this outfit. I occasionally go hunting for clothes in charity shops or vintage shops but other people seem to have a better eye for these things than me. You obviously do! :)
