An Overdue Outfit Post

Outfit: Dress, vintage; cardigan, Urban Outfitters; bag, vintage in Urban Outfitters; shoes, Red or Dead.

It's been a couple of months since I last did an outfit post. I’ve enjoyed branching out into more lifestyle’y territory lately but I’ve also just been too chicken/cold to brave the elements. I’ve missed documenting my outfits though. As someone who has no major interest in the larger fashion scene, and what’s ‘on trend’ and ‘so last season’, I’ve always loved clothes and putting outfits together.  I used to love poring over style books like Fruits, Fresh Fruits (featuring the most amazing quirky Japanese style) and What I Wore Today, long before I knew I could get my fix through blogs. But considering I’m not blogging to build up a portfolio for a future career in fashion, I sometimes feel a little embarrassed telling people I have a (life)style blog - like I should be using my internet platform for ‘loftier’ pursuits. Do any other bloggers ever feel like this?

But to me, clothes are such a huge daily form of self-expression and creativity. I love putting outfits together and I feel like my confidence soars when I feel comfortable in what I’m wearing. So hopefully I can bring some balance back to this blog with more outfit posts and just keep doing what I actually enjoy.

Anyway, I can’t believe it’s less than 2 weeks to Christmas. I love the lead-up to it more than anything so this next while, when the festivities step up a gear, is my absolute favourite. Cue lots of mood-setting Christmas movies, mulled wine, mince pies and last-minute pressie-shopping!

  1. I think a few of my friends find it quite strange that I have a personal style blog, but don't have a huge interest in fashion. I didn't even start thinking about how my clothes reflect me until I was in my twenties. This dress is gorgeous, you always find the most lovely vintage dresses. Looking lovely as always xo
